Behind the scenes.

Jeanne Keckler

Hailing from Michigan, Jeanne Keckler has lived in Seattle for many years. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of Michigan, and also has a Master of Science in Education from Johns Hopkins University. Mixed media is her tool of choice, as she enjoys the textural qualities of paper and paint and how it adds depth and excitement to her work. Her body of work ranges from abstract to representational but consistently uses a bright color palette, with themes of nature throughout. She uses a layering technique of paints and papers, and her overall compositions are influenced by folk art, German Expressionism, and Cubism.

Eileen Sorg

As with most Northwesterners, Eileen has an in-depth interest and respect for the natural landscape and its wild inhabitants. With her degree in Wildlife Science from the University of Washington and subsequent time spent studying birds and mammals as a biologist for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, she has now returned to art with a bit of the scientist still in tow. Eileen's primary medium is currently colored pencil, with ink and watercolor under-paintings for added depth. She seeks to capture the playful, sometimes mischievous side of her subjects, catching them in the act of behaving unexpectedly.
